Double sided tape for automotive applications helps attach trim, emblems, interior parts, foam seals and anti-rattle pads without visible screws or liquid adhesive overflow. The right tape should be selected by substrate type, coating condition, bond-line thickness, adhesive chemistry, compression need, application pressure, dwell time, service temperature and load direction. Common risks include trim edge lifting, weak wet-out on textured plastic, foam compression set, difficult liner removal and adhesive transfer during rework. Final selection should be based on real-substrate sample testing and a trial run before repeated assembly.
